For those of us who are not working on the front lines right now, life has really slowed down. We’re all confined to our houses with our immediate families and we have a whole lot of unstructured time on our hands. What are most of us doing? We’re thinking about our homes. We are realizing that they are too small or too big. Realizing we have too much stuff, or not enough. Relationships may be thriving or struggling. Home improvement projects that were always put off are suddenly a priority. We are all spending way more time in the kitchen, in the garden, and yes, on the couch watching Netflix. Home used to be the beginning point and the final destination of the day. Now it is our whole world. When the real estate market picks up again, there will be a lot of people buying and selling because they learned something about themselves in their house. They learned they need more space, need a different neighbourhood, or that they have too much space and want to downsize.
During this trying time, we hope that your home is a sanctuary. We hope you are safe and loved. More than anything, we wish you quiet reflection before the hustle and bustle returns.
