What to Do in Roncesvalles This Weekend

What to Do in Roncesvalles This Weekend

I know it is technically still summer, but it’s feeling downright autumnal these days. The weather has us thinking about how we can enjoy this crisp weather in our favourite neighbourhood of Roncesvalles while it lasts.

Fall is the best time of year in Roncesvalles. The sun is low, the leaves are starting to turn, and the black eye Susans are tall and proud in all the gardens.

There are so many exciting things to do in Roncesvalles this weekend, whether you live here or not.

  1. Roncesvalles Polish Festival. The festival was cancelled for the last two years and is now back, bigger and better than ever. The Polish Fest is always fun, with several polish food vendors. It feels like a large neighbourhood party as everyone gathers to eat, drink and dance. This year will be even bigger and better because the Polish fest and the Roncy Rocks have amalgamated. So, expect international food, four stages, two family zones with activities, and six beer gardens. If the pandemic years had you yearning for some crowd time, this weekend on Roncy will be a balm for your soul. And, it’s outside, so you can still stay safe. Learn More Here.

  2. High Park: Autumn is the best season in High Park. Cherry blossom and summer get all the credit, but the park is quieter this time of year, and the trees are stunning. Take a book and a coffee, go for a run, walk a dog, or take your kids to the park. Enjoy this vast green space.

  3. Mary Poppins at the Revue Cinema: Technically, this is part of the polish fest, but it deserves its own category. The Revue Cinema is an institution in Roncesvalles and plays some great old and new movies. On Saturday, they’ll be screening Mary Poppins for free. You need to reserve your tickets in advance. Learn More Here.

I’ll be hosting an open house at our new listing at 26 Wright Avenue on Sunday, and you can believe I’m going to check out the polish festival before that open house. I asked Kim and Sam what their plans for the weekend are too.

Kim: “Going to be on Roncesvalles checking out the polish festival. My favourite yearly festival. Hope to see you there!”

Sam: “Trying to find parking! Just kidding. I look forward to seeing everyone at our open house on 26 Wright Ave on Saturday. Please bring me some perogies!”

I hope to see many of you out and about this weekend!
